Name: Lucian Age: 19 years Gender: masculine Race: Human Alliance: None (The Theives)
Appearance: For physical appearance, see image.
Lucian’s quite a slim build, wiry and lean instead of muscular, but any weight he does carry is muscle not fat, thanks to his life with little food and lot’s of exercise. He’s average height 174cm tall approximately, give or take. Clothes wise Lucian dress’s down, in a simple shirt and pant’s, usually nothing to make him stand out in a crowd. He does however, keep a few prized possession’s on him, jewellery wise. Mostly’ a chain necklace with a metal drop on it, the first thing he stole when he was a kid, and he’s kept it ever since (Lucian think’s it’s lucky), one ear piercing, and his father’s ring. None of these pieces are flamboyant, all made of silver and rather dull.
Personality: Lucian’s got a natural ability to charm, mix that with a sharp tongue and a rather careless manner and you get the wonderful Thief King. Although Lucian give’s off the whole ‘bad boy’ attitude, there is more to him then that. Because of his upbringing, he’s used to struggling to get his own way, Lucian doesn’t give up easily, he’s prone to fighting until he wins, and believe me, he like’s winning. Although he comes across as brash and big-headed there is a softer side to him, a side that does care, a side that take’s it’s time and think’s things over slowly. This side is the side that got him where he is today. He like’s a challenge, he relishes them like candy, so when a challenge comes his way he can’t resist answering it.
Lucian is a charmer, with the ladies, and sometimes with the gent’s if it get him what he wants. Although he plays it down depending on the situation. What with his new position he’s had to cut back on his behaviour, as he is usually quite a trouble maker. Recently however, Lucian has calmed down quite a bit, and is beginning to take his role in Decalage more seriously. When it comes to the war, Lucian isn’t passionate about either side, he doesn’t care about Fonce’s injustice (he knows that bad thing’s happen and people must deal with it) nor does he support Moyen or Lumiere. He has simply gone with the side that will entertain him the most (which doesn’t happen to be Fonce haha).
Luckily, once Lucian has chosen a side he stick’s to it, since he hates indecision, even if it turn’s out to be the loosing side.
History: Lucian’s story is a bit like one of those ‘broken home’ stories. His mother was a maid and his father was a soldier in the Fonce army. Lucian never found out if it was rape, seduction or if the two of them were just up for a good time, but 9 month’s after his mother met his father Lucian was born. Since his mother didn’t have much time for him Lucian was left to his own devices and discovered at a very young age that he couldn’t just get the things he wanted, he had to work for them. To Lucian, this meant one of two option’s, he could work hard and earn them through honest labour. Or he could steal them. Needless to say Lucian decided to steal. At first it was just petty things (he was only young after all, around five years old) an extra loaf of bread from the market, his next door neighbour’s toys. But as he got older Lucian began to set his sight’s on much bigger prizes. When he was a teenager he began to show a real talent in being invisible, and when he stole the local duchess’s jewel’s he caught the attention of the Court of Thieves.
Since it seemed to be Lucian’s natural calling in life, he didn’t hesitate in joining up, and was quickly elevated to more superior ranks. The previous king ‘took him under his wing’ so to speak, and Lucian was a natural choice when it came time to replace him. There was a lot of doubt about Lucian’s abilities to rule when he first stepped up, mostly because of his age and his lack of experience, but it didn’t take him long to prove that he was worth his weight in gold. Since then nothing interesting has happened to him, beside’s the unlikely friendship with Saeri.
Abilites: Beside’s his ability to charm every lady and steal every jewel? Lucian’s got skill’s when it comes to hand to hand combat, as he never really got a chance to practise with a weapon, although he can also use a dagger sufficiently. He’s also good at talking, and can weed information out of most people, mostly because he knows how to read their personality and can change his accordingly, he’s a good actor when the time call’s for it. He’s got quite a skill for being unseen, and can blend into a crowd with out much trouble, but at the same time when he want’s to stand out and be heard, people will listen to him.
Lucian has two type's of magical abilities, although because the thieves do not like magic he rarely uses them. One of these abilities is blood control. Lucian can influence another person's movement's by controlling how the blood moves through their body, however since his control of his power is weak he can't stop blood flow entirely. This ability mean's he can make people do what he want's them to do, although they are full conscious at the time, they just have no control over their body. His second power is the power to create illusion's, where he sends his victim into a trance like state and he can control what they see and feel. These illusion's are harmless, anything that happens in them does not reflect on the person's body at all.
Disabilities: Because he’s young, he’s still quite headstrong, and believes that the world is at his feet, he hasn’t learnt that he can’t conquer everything, although he does understand that failure happens. Lucian is scared of the sea, or rather, the unreliability of the sea. He doesn’t like the thought that it can kill him, or that things in the sea can kill him. Therefore he does his best to avoid large bodies of water. Power wise, Lucian's control over blood is very undeveloped, and not something he likes to use despite how useful it may be, it takes a lot of energy out of him if he uses it too often, so he avoids using it at all if necessary. His illusion’s only work if he is concentrating on a person, and the moment his concentration break’s the illusion fall’s apart and his victim is fully aware of what is around him/her.

Sample:
Wasn’t it funny how life like’s to laugh at you. One moment you have it by the balls, and your twisting out every bit of good luck you can get, the next moment it has you back against the wall, covered in clown paint and doing the tango. And boy doesn’t life laugh then, an insane cackle like sand paper rubbing against a balloon, relentless and constant in your ears. Life had laughed at Lucian so many times, and Lucian had laughed back at life, it’s ironic twists and turns, things that seemed totally random but brought on the best results. Fate, as it were, played an important part in life, Lucian just didn’t have the time to deal with it. In a world like this one, which seemed to move so fast that you could hardly keep your feet, Lucian didn’t have enough time to worry about trivial thing’s like fate and whether his life had a deeper meaning to it.
He balanced precariously on top of the artfully designed rooftops of Fonce’s upper city, the amusement in his cool grey eyes suggesting that he found the antic’s of Fonce’s upper class quite hilarious. They seemed to bustle like insulted peacock’s, showing off their wealth as if they had something to prove. And it was their wealth that attracted him to the dark and dirty backstreet’s of the dark kingdom. The Foncian’s had a lot to offer him, and he was more then ready to take it from them. It was only natural. Where ever there was stuffed hen’s, sitting on their roost of gold, there would always be a sly fox ready to grab the prize. He rocked back on his heel’s, taking in the sight’s and smell’s of the dark kingdom, before descending down the tilted roof and pausing at the gutter.
It probably wasn’t wise, for ‘The Robin’ to be playing on the Fonce rooftop’s, especially given his wanted status (a status, I might add, Lucian was very pleased with). But when had Lucian ever been a victim of common sense. Wisdom was not his forte, although there was some sort of intelligence in his gray eyes, he had never been prone to doing what was wise. What else was there to do, besides sit around in his court all day and look pretty. Not that there was anything wrong with his court, the thief king just couldn’t stand the restriction he felt when he was there.
Even though many of the thieves had accepted him as the replacement king, he still felt their doubt every time he strolled through the corridor’s of his kingdom. It was doubt that he could live without, and so in his vain attempt to escape the pressure of being the young thief king, he came here. To Fonce. They had laughed at him as well, because what kind of threat was he, especially with his youth and lack of experience. They had laughed at him.
So he had stolen the crown jewels.
