Name: Kadia
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Alliance: Light
Appearance: At just under five and a half feet in height, she isn't particularly tall, but she wouldn't be Kadia if she were any different. Her wavy hair is golden blonde, about shoulder length. In an attempt to keep it out of her way Kadia usually ties it back with whatever ribbons or strings she can find at the time of need. When her hair is down, it's always moving. Part of that is attributed to the way that Kadia moves, but it's also the simple fact that her hair is light. Kadia's eyes are dark blue, framed by similarly dark lashes. She has an extremely expressive face, partly due to her abstract eyes. Kadia is quite terrible at hiding her emotions when her face is visible, but her voice is perfect for a diplomat, and that's attributed to years of practice and exposure to the atmosphere of Court life. Kadia is slight in stature, but she's proportionally well-laid out, considering her height. Her pale complexion lends the appearance of sickness, but on most days Kadia is the picture of good health. As a baby and a toddler she had some moderate health problems which have been determined to be the cause of her lack of height. With the magic running through the veins of most of the population, the diagnosis has been largely accepted.
As far as clothes go, Kadia wears dresses, and that's about it. The combination of being female as well as royalty makes it difficult for her to wear casual clothes in general, let alone something that doesn't blow around at the slightest hint of wind. She doesn't really have anything against dresses, but everyone gets tired of some type of clothing at some point in their life, and after nineteen years, you can't really blame her.
Personality: Kadia, though forced to be a diplomat and a wartime leader during her father's sickness, is a very peaceful person. She has a deep dislike for blades of any kind (ironic, really), but necessity beats preference in these times, so she doesn't have much choice but to ignore them to the best of her ability. She has the habit of conveniently forgetting to inform someone -- anyone -- that she's going out on a completely random and unplanned trip to the forest or the waterfall or some other ridiculously random place. She's very set in her ways, and fiercely dedicated to continuing her father's way of ruling when he passes, but she can't be exactly like him. Kadia, after all, had a mother, too, and she takes after the late Queen of Lumiere in personality. She's an easy laugher, and it's even easier to get her to smile. Kadia has a very versatile mind, and she's not so set in her ways that she won't consider something new.
Having the ability to speak to animals never helped with her habit of wandering off to random locations to convene with her furry or feathery friends. Those that are scaly are the exception to her love of animals; on the contrary, she dislikes snakes with a passion, but won't go out of her way to harm one -- she's too much a bleeding heart for that. As a child, Kadia would foster injured animals, on occasion even coming back to the castle with a carnivorous beast, assuring everyone that it wouldn't hurt anyone even as it snarled at every person but her.
History: Kadia didn't have much of a childhood. as soon as she was comprehensive of speech she became an active part in court politics (though not always, you know, participating. usually just sitting in a corner, observing, etc.), despite the fact that she wasn't first in line to the throne. That's right, Kadia had a sibling. A brother, to be exact. He was eight years older than her, and it was not uncommon to find her following him about the castle as he went about his own business during her younger years, and even during her early teens she was always at his elbow, watching and learning, and occasionally adding her own ideas to a conversation when she really couldn't resist. Her mother died when she was ten, and when Kadia was sixteen, her brother was killed by a Foncian assassin. Now she's nineteen and her father -- the last family she has -- is on his own deathbed.
Abilities/Disabilities: Water Manipulation – Kadia can control most aspects of water. She can manipulate it – obviously – into any shape she needs/desires, and she can pull water from the ground if it’s present within a mile’s radius. She can’t create water from nothing, nor can she completely destroy it. Pretty much follow the laws of Alchemy and you’ll be alright. At this point her control is mediocre at best, but she experiments with the magic any chance she can get.
Animal Speech – Kadia can talk to animals, whether they’re ‘real’ or mythical creatures, though magical animals don’t necessarily listen to her. It has something to do with the animal’s magic interfering with her own.
Healing – Kadia can heal all but the most gruesome of injuries, be they external or internal. How long the healing takes depends on the severity of the wound, and Kadia's stamina is affected by the level of severity, as well. One advantage of this magic is that it can't drain her to death, which is why a fatal would can rarely be completely healed all at once. She can heal a wound in stages if it's too much for her abilities all at once, but even that is taxing on both Kadia and her patient. A side effect of this branch of magic allows Kadia to see a person's 'soul,' of sorts, as she heals them, which also gives her an advantage over strangers. Simply heal a minor cut or scrape, and she knows their intentions.
