I've noticed that there is some confusion about magic, how it exists, and what types are allowed. We allow all and any type of magic. This includes shifting, potion making, turning people into newts, seeing, necromancy, etc. The limits that we will put on magic are few. If we notice that too many people are raising the dead, there will be restrictions put on necromancy, etc.
While your characters can be elementals, it is not necessary that they are cast in one elements. All magic is different- so just be creative, come up with new powers
Also- even the Gods and Goddesses are not all powerful, so please, don't make your characters all powerful.
The Authinia is a completely different matter from magic. It is Decalage's life song, all things are born of it, but few people are capable of "hearing" it (it exists in the mind, rather then the actual ear). Only trained bards and people with a natural affinity for the Authinia can make sense of the song, and only a handful of people in Decalage can actually control the song.
These people are often lost to insanity, but can talk to all aspects of Decalage (geography, shadows, animals), they can also control these aspects (to an extent, depending on their mastery). The Circia (essentially talking animals) also have a natural affinity for the Authinia.
