Name: Lady Knight Alexandria of Damr
Nicknames: Alex, Alexis, The Lady Knight. Sometimes she's referred to as Alexandria the Bear, due to the animal on her own personal coat-of-arms.
Age: 23
Gender: Female. Doesn't mean she can't kick your ass.
Race: Human, A Moyen girl, a mix-up of Fonce and Lumiere.
Alliance (dark/light/neutral/none): Her alligiance is to the kingdom of Moyen, so Alex would be a neutral sort of knight. However, she tends to lean towards the lighter side of things, sticking to the code of chivalry and doing good deeds and rescuing princesses and all that.
Appearance:
One usually doesn't get to see much of this girl, considering she is typically covered in large amounts of plate metal or chain mail. When all this fuss is shedded, most are shocked to see the figure of a woman instead of a man. Alex isn't particularily on the short or tall side, falling somewhere in the middle at 5'11, a height some ladies would balk at, but a height perfect for a lady knight. Her build is sturdy and muscular from years of difficult training, but not lacking its feminity: her curves fill out an elegant dress as easily as they fit into armor, being neither too overly endowed or under endowed, though her hips are on wideish side (good for flipping people over).
Numerous battle scars cover cracked and heavily tanned skin, accompanied by many calluses, evidence of a harsh life spent mostly outdoors doing things. Her face is surprisingly beautiful, characterized by elegant, high cheekbones and a gently sloping brow, giving her a somewhat elfin appearance, though her cheeks are far too rounded for anyone to mistake her as such. A tiny upturned nose adds a bit of cuteness to her face and draws attention to her full mouth that hides a wide array of expressions. Long, delicate eyelashes frame soft, almond-shaped eyes of a hazel-green hue; determination usually flickering in their depths, drawing one's eyes away from the thin silver scar that runs neatly through her left eyebrow and the corner of her left eye, snaking off somewhere and vanishing down her cheek. The whole thing is framed with a head of messy black curls, cropped close and just barely brushing her shoulders, usually tied back in a no-nonsense ponytail so as to provide less of a target in hand-to-hand combat, though she can't help the occasional wisp coming loose.
Overall, she can be taken for pretty when she cleans the dirt off of her and puts on a dress, though her beauty is rather rough around the edges, an unpolished diamond; she is far too tomboyish for stunning good looks.
In her full war gear, she bears the figure of an imposing silver knight, clad in full plate armor that is burnished and scratched from much use, forget that parade-shine. Her helmet is simple and rounded, the visor flipped down or up depending on what she's up to at the time; occasionally topped with a plume of silver and blue feathering, depending on whether it has somehow gotten torn out again or not. Her standard's colors are blue and silver, the colors of her family, mimicking the coloring of her shield. When she is equipped as such, in full combat and jousting gear, she is usually seen wielding a lance, broadsword ready at her side, shield on her arm as ever.
Of course, a full knight's equipment is rather heavy and hot, so she opts for simple leggings and a chain mail shirt under her tunic when there's no jousting or heavy warfare to be done. She has her trusty broadsword (of course), and most likely her longbow or crossbow with her, her shield always nearby in case she needs to use it, though. Her tunic is a dark blue, bordered in silver, with a rearing white bear as her crest.
Her shield is of the 'kite' variety, and features a rearing white bear with a crossed haleberd and axe underneath; set on a blue field and bordered first in silver, than in white, a distaff border: symbol of the female knight.
Personality: Alex is rough around the edges, a reserved, stubborn thing who tends to make people uncomfortable. She typically withholds her words and wisdom, and when she does speak it is blunt, to the point, and very often offensive (but also true). Such an attitude has made her unpopular in court, which is why she tends to rove as a knight instead of staying at any one place. Alex prefers solving problems by whacking them about with a sword rather than sitting down and talking about it, though she will opt for the latter option with much coaxing and cajoling. Those she goes heroing for get the impression that she is noble and kind, mostly because she doesn't really talk or interact, she just does her duty as a knight and leaves, giving her a sort of 'lone ranger' type appeal to the young ladies who haven't been informed of their savior's gender yet. Talk to her for five minutes and this impression of a noble kindness is instantly shattered.
Alex doesn't like to be bothered, she's happiest when it's just her and her horse travelling on the road to go kill a rogue ogre or some other thing.
She absolutely loathes court and all its trappings, and will avoid social functions like the dickens, only showing up to one if it's a direct order from the nobility (and usually showing up very, very late). As such, she prefers to spend her time on the road, staying at inns or in tents.
Despite her grumpy personality, Alex has a strong sense of duty and justice, which is why she spends most of her time doing good deeds. She feels that there is a great amount of evil in the world, and that its her job to get rid of it, never mind all those other good people fighting evil, the task is ALL UP TO HER. She has dedicated herself to this task, as well as to promoting good and helping out whenever and wherever she can, believing it is a knight's duty to serve the kingdom and all who inhabit it. Her heart is in the right place, even if she hides it with prickly, spiky layers.
History:
Alex was born into a family of Nobility, although they are a very recent Noble family as her Grandfather, a wealthy merchant/soldier, was the one to receive the titles and lands for doing some great deed or another. He married a simple farm girl who became Lady of the Fief and retired to farming the land. Alexandria's family still keeps in close contact with their humbler roots, and she grew up helping out with the farm and learning how to balance sheets and such, on top of learning how to act like a proper courtly lady. Alex never really took to the whole 'lady' thing, and when it came time for her to be sent off to finishing school she rebelled. Never one to quit until she has won an arguement, Alex wore her parents down until they agreed to go let her do something else. They signed her up to go learn how to be a Bard, she signed herself up as a page to go learn how to be a knight, having forged a letter from her parents. By the time they figured things out, she'd already been training as a page for a solid few months, and they gave up on trying to make her do anything she didn't want to do and went back to raising the rest of their children. Alex has two older brothers, one of whom is a wizard and the other whom joined the army as a soldier. Her younger brother and sister, twins, are too little to really decide what they're going to do yet.
Alex made it through the trials and tribulations of being the only female page in the realm, and passed her tests and became squire to an absent-minded, reckless field knight, which is where she picked up all her 'lone ranger' ideals from. After doing her time as a squire, she took the Ordeal of Knighthood at age eighteen and passed with flying colors. Shortly after being knighted, her former knight-master was killed in battle with a rather vicious ogre (who he took down with him), leaving her no one she was particularily close to, as her family is still upset about the whole female-knight thing and they don't speak very often.
Alex spent the rest of her years up until now heroing about, occasionally receiving tasks and orders from the Crown and carrying them out, fighting in the war, but mostly just riding around, looking for trouble, and solving it. She's been to court a few times (under orders) and avoids it as much as possible. Currently Alex is not engaged in the war, and spends her own time doing the hero thing. She's currently the only known Lady Knight in the whole of Moyen.
Extras: She owns three equines:
- Lady, a swift grey Anglo-Arabian mare
- Bolero, a fiery chestnut gelding charger (mixed draft type) (why is he a gelding? Alex knows full well the temptations a mare can present, especially since she travels with one. He's gelded so that he won't run off after a mare in heat while she's on him- keep his mind on battle. He's still a great warhorse!)
- Goliath, a positively massive male mule
And a dog:
- Boris, a grey male Irish Wolfhound
Abilites:
- Extremely courageous
- Incredibly loyal to what she believes in
- Intelligent, cunning, good at strategizing, can think on her feet (quickly)
- Keeps a calm head in nasty situations
- A master of both armed and unarmed combat, deadly with any sort of weapon you put in her hand
- Good with dogs and horses
- Noble & a firm believer in the code of chivalry
- Honest
- Extremely athletic, unusually strong
- Very good at picking up on things, has sensitive senses
Disabilities:
- Can't lie her way out of a paper bag (WON'T lie her way out of anything)
- Mistrustful of magic and magical creatures, even afraid, though she'll never admit it
- Stubborn to the point of sheer boorishness
- Extremely poor people skills
- Arrogant and extremely protective of her pride and her reputation as a knight
- Convinced she must do everything by herself with no help whatsoever
- Deathly, deathly terrified of water deeper than her waistline (YOU try falling into a pond in a suit of armor)

The sun was now just beginning to peep over the horizon, testing the new morning gingerly, the dawn not quite having cracked yet. Very few people were out and about on this battered dirt road at such a time (though there would be many come high noon), and our hero was currently the only one traversing this beaten path. A steady cloud of dust haunted the air around her, dirtying her clothes and face, stirred up by the steady churning of hooves in the looser sections of sand and grit. There was nothing she could do about the dirt, she just hoped the canvas that covered the pack on the mule's back would keep most of her armor free from the grit: cleaning dirt from armor was quite a daunting task, not one she looked forward to.
The procession halted as the tiny grey mare she sat upon paused, sniffing curiously at a patch of grass before the girl clucked confidently, nudging her in the side with her toe and persuading her onwards. Let the trek resume.
The sun inched higher and higher, observed carefully by the girl clad in light chain mail, a tunic, and riding clothes. Eventually she was satisfied with it's height and toed her mare off the winding road, halting her three charges near a copse of trees and dismounting. She left the mare to graze, trusting her not to wander too far, changing her grip on the other two's leads so she could have one in each hand. Alex led her pack mule and her large charger to the trees, tying them to seperate ones with practiced ease, offering a pat on the neck for her warhorse and a soothing scratch at her mule's mane before she went to collect her riding mount, removing her bridle and tossing it over her shoulder as she tied the mare to yet another tree.
"Good girl." Alex muttered, rummaging through the saddle bags to remove her breakfast for the day, a hunk of bread, cheese, and an apple. Taking a quick swig from her water bottle to moisten her parched mouth, Alex hooked the bag with her food in it into her belt, allowing it to settle comfortably by her sword. Approaching the mule, she untied one of the packs and removed a bag of grain and three nosebags, rationing out the food into each bag and strapping them onto the noses of her equines. Their breakfast started, Alex walked a little ways off and sat down to start hers, eagerly tearing open her bag and biting a large hunk off of her bread, only biting a piece of cheese off as an afterthought.
The sounds of contented crunchings filled the clearing as all four creatures ate their breakfasts with gusto, taking in energy for the long day ahead. Alexandria had heard there was a troll terrorizing a local village a day's ride away, and she had the full intention to scope things out.
Finishing her meal, the lady knight leaned back on her arms, sighing contentedly as she patted her belly, resting for a moment as she allowed the horses (and mule) to finish. Easing to her feet languidly, stretching her arms and cracking her back, Alex removed her helmet, shaking out a head of sweat-dampened black curls, tucking the metal contraption under her arm and going round to the horses, removing their feedbags and getting everything stored away again. That finished, she poured water from her large flask into her helmet, taking it 'round to each of her charges and letting them drink their fill, refilling the temporary drinking basin when needed. The needs of her and her mounts met, Alex jammed her helmet back on her head, untying her horses and casually leading them away from the trees, transferring the leads of her war mount and her mule to her left hand as she swung into the saddle, settling herself. It would be a long day's ride. She adjusted the shield strapped to the back of her saddle, as it was sort of digging into her leg, then clucked to her horse, urging her back onto the road as they continued in the direction they'd been heading before. Just another ordinary morning.
