i. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Respect the players, the role playing game, the world, and everyone else. Yes, that includes me. Also, yes, I just put the owner at the end of the list; I care more about the players and the world than myself, shoot me, but not my children... not that the other players are my chil- nevermind. Just respect.
ii. Activity is a big thing a lot of role playing games have problems with. We are not a non-committal role playing game; we are a fantasy role playing game. One of my pet-peeves, along with stealing, is when people disappear and/or quit without telling us. We won't get offended if you quit, or if you have life problems or no muse and need to be put on hiatus for a while. We probably won't even get offended if you disappear, but please let us know if you are leaving, to be polite.
iii. This game is rated PG-13 (or whatever the role playing game rating is for it) for violence, slight cursing (fantasy style), and maybe a touch of excessive fluff here and there. Basically, it's everything a PG-13 movie would have. No drugs though, please, there is no such thing as Meth in Decalage. Decalage is also rated INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED. This doesn't mean our posts are long, it means they are good.
iv. No power-playing, god modeling, or Mary Sues/Gary Stus. If you don't know what those things are then you can Google them or Wikipedia them. Hopefully, if you are an intermediate-advanced role player you will know what those things are.
v. Joining posts for original characters must be 200 words long and not recycled. That is only for your first character though, so unless you audition no more joining posts are necessary. YAY! Just because you don't have to do sample posts doesn't mean you can join a thousand characters and never play them again though. Limit yourself to what you can handle. To audition, make sure your posts are either extremely pretty and nice, or 400+ words.
vi. Most of these rules are just common sense, so use your common sense and all will be well! Using your common sense will allow you to have fun!
vii. You can either have a main OOC account with various character accounts, or just various character accounts. Please create a separate account for each character, however.
viii. Feel free to have your character be in multiple places at one time. We don't really have a "time" here on Decalage (at least until we start moving some major plots). If there is a dictated for an event, you'll see it
[please check back from time to time, we may find the need to edit/change these]
